Wow! Nominated for an award. Excited, but especially so since it comes from a woman who I’ve come to care about, simply through her blogs and her encouragement to me. Thanks, Julie!
To receive this award, there are certain criteria I must follow. So let me post those first.
Award Rules:
•Nominate your 6 favorite bloggers! In your nominees I would like for you to think of the light emanating from the stars – the ones that truly touch your soul with their work, the ones that are the light for you – a true STARLIGHT Blogger.
•Thank the giver and link their Blog to your post.
•Answer the 3 new questions from your nominator given to you.
•Please Pass the award on to 6 or more other Bloggers of your choice and let them know that they have been nominated by you.
- Include the logo of the award in a post or on your Blog, please never alter the logo. Please don’t delete this note: the design for the STARLIGHT Bloggers Award has been created from YesterdayAfter is a Copyright image you cannot alter or change it in any way just pass it to others that deserve this award. The questions from Julie and my answers:
- What is your best quality, talent and/or genius?
Yikes! Tough question to start! My best quality? Oh, Lord, it’s hard to be humble…! 🙂
Kidding! I’ve been told that I’m humble, in particular when it comes to my desire to be helpful to others. I do get a charge out of being able to assist others – to help them find their niche to serve, to lead a group discussion in Bible Study, to help others in their walk through the darkness of depression, even just to be a friend. I hope that means that I’m a good listener, tho’ I know that I talk as much as I listen with my family and closest friends!
2. What contribution would you like to make to society?
Really, ever since my emergence to this side of depression, and especially with consideration to my amazingly supportive friends and family – my support team – I have wanted to comfort others with the same comfort by which I’ve been comforted by God (from 2 Cor 1:4). Indeed, that was my repeated prayer throughout my 7+ years of depression, that God would somehow use it to help others. I’ve been given some of those opportunities, and maybe blogging is another way to do the same. I hope so.
3. What is your biggest dream?
Again yikes! I’d like to travel all over Europe with my husband. And again, I’ve been told that I have a book inside me; I need to find out if that’s true, and then I need to write it, but that will certainly require more discipline than I currently implement. (Is writing a book the dream of every blogger? I ask sincerely! Please post – anyone! – if this is true of you. What is your book about?)
My questions for my nominees:
1. What impact do you hope to have through your blog?
2. What’s something about you that we don’t know from your blog or About Me page? Funny or serious, please share!
3. Who is your hero/heroine and why? What specific impact did s/he have on you?
And to name Names:
I’d nominate Julie, but that’s already been done, so here are 6 others bloggers who I enjoy reading, am inspired by, and consider that the insights they share to be “a light for me:”
Walking Through Depression – Kathy – I love what you write! No pressure to answer, but I want you to know how much I value the ways you encourage me.
Strange Vegetables – Cheryl, your creativity inspires me, both your writing and photos.
Simple Praise 2020 – I appreciate Steven’s daily encouragements with word and music – would be fun to learn his answers.
Due South – I love the way you point to Christ in each post, Andi! I am challenged in my daily life by your writings.
One More Voice – Robin, I would love to hear your answers, tho’ I might be able to guess an answer, maybe two, just by what I’ve read of your posts. Since I met you through Photo101, would you consider including one of your beautiful photos in one of your answers?
18-200 mm View – Hi Steff! You are a wonderful photographer, and I’m learning from you. Would you include a photo if you chose to answer this nomination?
Whew! Thanks again to Julie, and thanks in advance to those nominees who choose to participate.
Thanks for leading me to these great bloggers – more on my list to follow – yea!

I love your answers, Peggy, and your new questions. I’ll have to check out your nominees in a day or two to see how they answered them.
P.S. It isn’t my dream to write a book. I already wrote one and I’ve been too lazy to publish it.

Thanks so much! I’m really touched and honoured to be nominated! Wow! I’m not surprised you’ve got this award – your blog is really inspiring and touching and honest. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself with us. I will work on my answers but I’m not sure where they’re supposed to go. In my reply? On my blog?

Hi, Andi.
Your “reply” is a post on your blog, similar to this one. You must include the rules and the logo and copyright claim (the picture and text and part of this post at the top that’s in bold). Those rules are the instructions for what to include in your post. Does that help?

Here is the link to Julie’s post at Light at Life (http://thereluctantbaptist.com/2015/06/18/award-hoard/) where I was among her nominees. Perhaps looking at the progression from hers to mine to yours will also help;)!
